“Wow, 5 weeks flew by faster than I thought possible. So far my LaunchBox experience has been a bit of a rollercoaster. We’ve had some high points; bringing another developer on team for the summer & pitching to NDRC and some low points; realising selling software to universities is next to impossible for a StartUp, eating ham and cheese sandwiches every day for 2 weeks.
The most positive take-away from the experience so far and advice I would offer to anyone else starting out is the benefit of working in shared office space. It can get stressful when things aren’t going your way and there’s really nothing better than being able to walk around and talk to the other teams and see if you can help solve each other’s problems.
Right now, I’m feeling pretty good about our progress. We’re hopeful to have a fully functioning ID issuance and verification platform live by the LaunchBox Demo Day. This will give us a great springboard to start making sales beyond the university marketplace and developing partnerships that will allow us to on-board users quickly.
I’ve learned more in the last 5 weeks than in the previous year in my studies, hopefully what I’ve learned has put us on the right trajectory for the Demo day and beyond.
